Is there investment in healthcare?

The Budget Memorandum and National Budget 2019 were announced today on Budget Day. We have listed some points from the bill for healthcare.

What does the Finance Bill say about healthcare?

The central government spends most of its money on healthcare, social security and education. The government spends this money on hospitals, schools, benefits, salaries of teachers, doctors, nurses and so on.
Much of the extra funding is for additional and better-trained staff, including in care. In healthcare, the demand for staff is rising mainly due to the ageing population and the higher quality requirements in the quality framework for nursing home care. At the same time, insufficient staff have been trained in recent years to meet the demand for teaching and care staff.
Next year, 71 billion euros will be available for care. With an increasing ageing population, more care is being provided and more jobs need to be created in the care sector. Wages and prices in the care sector are rising.
There will also be more money available for elderly care: over 1 billion more than this year. Among other things, this money will go towards extra investments for the quality framework for nursing home care. This cabinet period, the extra investment in elderly care will increase to 3 billion euros annually from 2021.
