What is FinTech?

The word FinTech is the abbreviation of financial (financial) and technology (technology). So when you combine a financial service with the latest technological developments, it is often called a FinTech product.
They are often innovative IT companies where a digitisation battle is being waged on traditional services with modern apps and other online tools. They have been popping up like mushrooms in recent years.
The innovation technology allows for, for example, fast credit and are complementary to traditional financial providers. These so-called FinTech companies are set to completely transform banking. Sometimes they complement already existing service providers but regularly they offer genuinely newer and more modern capabilities.
FinTech companies are not in every way competition for already established traditional providers. Instead, it is often an opportunity for banks, for example, to move with the times and modernise. You therefore see more and more collaborations emerging between these two types of companies.
