Business payments with care

Thebe provides district nursing, specialist care, home support and day care in 19 municipalities in West and Central Brabant. Thebe also provides care in 25 residential care centres in the region. Care professionals and volunteers provide compassionate care with attention and dedication.

Within Thebe, cash and limited prepaid debit cards were previously used. However, this did not fit the picture of a digital and automated healthcare institution. Rob Schumacher, employee of Thebe's financial administration, started looking for an alternative to cash and a solution to give self-managing teams more independence. After a comparison with other providers, SimpledCard emerged as the best solution as an all-in-one spend platform; self-issuing business debit cards combined with an app and interfacing with accounting software.

Each care team now has a payment card. The finance department puts the amounts on the cards on request and the teams decide how to spend certain budgets, as long as they do the accounting within Thebe's wishes. “The care teams account for the expenditure through the app which means we no longer have to manually enter hundreds of excel sheets. We can check the expenditure in real time via the enclosed receipts and intervene if necessary,” says Rob. The payment cards are also used facility-wise. The secretariat and support services use the SimpledCard payment cards.
